Working with Parents E-Learning Course
Our Working with Parents e-learning course is intended to help practitioners think about how they can work with and support parents effectively to help improve the lives of vulnerable children and their families.
Working with Parents Aims
Research shows that a positive parenting style has a strong positive impact on children. The ‘Think Family’ Government initiative has been put into place to ensure services work together to:
- Identify families at risk and to provide support at the earliest opportunity
- Meet the full range of needs within each family they are supporting or working with
- Strengthen the ability of family members to provide care and support to each other
Working with Parents aims to help Practitioners who work with Children and Families support parents effectively to achieve better outcomes for those most at risk.
Working with Parents E-Learning Objectives
The Working with Parents E-Learning course aims to:
- Give new practitioners an awareness of important issues in working with Parents and provide existing staff with a useful refresher
- Develop practitioners’ knowledge of positive parenting and parenting skills
- Reflect on how practitioners can overcome barriers to good working relationships
- Ensure practitioners look after themselves and seek good support
