"Business has lots of content but no engagement. Games have lots of engagement but no content. Why not put the two together?"
Marc Prensky
" We need to bring learning to people instead of people to learning."
Elliott Masie
“You have to stop worrying about all the training metrics of how many people you trained and what your completion rate is. Only training people care about those numbers. You wouldn't walk into the boardroom and have that discussion. They'd fall asleep or throw you out. The best thing you could do is to imagine the senior staff — what do they talk about? They don't talk about training. They talk about sales. They talk about customer satisfaction. Those are the problems training people have to solve in order to move from the classroom to the boardroom."

Why Not E-learning?
Whilst the potential benefits of e-learning are huge, what might impact on its success?
IT literacy
Varying standards of IT literacy amongst a training group can cause problems. This is rapidly becoming less of an issue with increased access to computers, either at work or at home, and familiarity with the technologies used - particularly web browsers.
As part of a Training Needs Analysis kwango can identify and address any technology concerns so that all participants are confident in their ability to access the e-learning delivered.
Availability
kwango will discuss and confirm whether the existing IT infrastructure will support the delivery of the training goals.
Relevance
100% e-learning based training is very effective in transferring knowledge.
However, training or personal development, particularly at a management level, is often concerned with changing behaviours. Issues with a high emotional content, such as team building or 360 degree appraisals, cannot purely be addressed on an impersonal basis.
At kwango we recognise this and offer blended learning which combines face-to-face training with e-learning for assessment, subsequent reinforcement of the issues identified, or opportunities for behavioural change.
Lack of interest
Much early e-learning merely transferred words and pictures into an electronic textbook with screen after screen of too much text.
It was booooooorrrrrrrrrriiiiiiiiiiing!
At kwango we strongly believe that e-learning should be well-designed, imaginative and interactive, as well as relevant.
In short, it should be FUN! Click here to see our e-learning examples.
