Lead Professional Aims

Children, Young People and Families who require integrated support from more than one practitioner want one identified professional to support them and ensure that their needs are met.

The Lead Professional acts as a single point of contact for a child and their family to ensure that services are co-ordinated, coherent and achieving the intended outcomes.

Every Child Matters: Change for Children is a national programme to improve the lives of all children and young people. The Lead Professional has an important contribution to make to the Every Child Matters agenda.

Lead Professional E-Learning Objectives

The course is intended to help both Lead Professionals and their colleagues from other agencies to:

Understand the role of the Lead Professional
Identify the skills needed to be a Lead Professional
Maintain, support and further develop the role
