Dementia Awareness Week 14th – 20th May 2017

Thursday, May 18th, 2017

Kwango is pleased to support Dementia Awareness Week which takes place 14th – 20th May 2017.

Dementia is set to be the 21st century’s biggest killer.  It currently affects around 850,000 people in the UK and 1 in 6 people over the age of 80 are suffering from it.  The Alzheimer’s Society are asking everyone to unite against dementia, raise awareness and offer help and understanding.

Our Dementia E-Learning programme is designed to help Health and Social Care Staff, Carers and Volunteers understand Dementia.  It provides guidance about responding to, caring for and treating people with Dementia; promoting person-centred care to achieve optimum ‘well-being’ for anyone with Dementia; recognising the importance of Carers’ needs and providing support to Carers.  Through clear content, case studies, quizzes and further information, we can help provide the skills and knowledge needed to make the lives of people with Dementia, their Carers’ and families better and more fulfilled.

Have a look at our Dementia E-Learning programme to see how we can help you.

Mental Health Awareness Week 8-14 May 2017

Wednesday, May 10th, 2017

Kwango is pleased to support Mental Health Awareness Week 8-14 May 2017.  With current levels of good mental health disturbingly low, the theme for this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week is Surving or Thriving? Rather than ask why so many people are living with mental health problems, help promote a national conversation about why too few people are thriving with good mental health.
