Our Child Sexual Exploitation E-Learning Course (CSE) has been developed in conjunction with Janet Donaldson, CSE Consultant currently working with Oxfordshire on their Serious Case Review. The programme was commissioned and influenced by 10 LSCBs – West Berkshire, Kirklees, Wokingham, Enfield, Reading, Windsor & Maidenhead, Gloucestershire, Bracknell, East Sussex and Oxfordshire.
It is designed to provide multi-agency staff with the knowledge, skills and strategies to understand CSE, help prevent it and properly support its victims.
This includes recognising its impact on children, young people and families; engaging more effectively with vulnerable children and young people; knowing what to do if you suspect a child is being groomed or sexually exploited; improving your response to CSE and helping you work better in partnership with other agencies.
Our highly interactive course contains interviews with CSE survivors and professionals and includes reflective thinking & action plans, guided learning and access to further information.
One of our Commissioners, Kirklees LSCB who are using it as pre-learning, refresher and awareness raising for ‘000s of multi-agency staff say:
“We are very happy with the CSE programme. It is easy to read and understand with excellent visuals, pace, great flow and full of loads of important information. It is user-friendly and lots of excellent further reading is included…”
As with all our courses, it can be customised for each individual organisation and allows electronic tracking of user and usage. It can also be accessed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week which gives learners both the advantage and flexibility of completing the course at their own pace and to suit their work schedule.
Increasing understanding of CSE through training and by agencies working together effectively and staying focused on the ultimate goal of keeping children safe, their needs can be met.
